Polypropylene (PP) Rope

Flexible and lightweight

High quality polypropylene rope braided from synthetic fibers. Constructed from pure polypropylene, this rope is weather and UV radiation resistant. It does not react to water, solvents, oils, gasoline and weak acids. The fibers can withstand temperatures up to about 70°C or 158°F. Rope melts when the temperature reaches about 140°C or 284°F.

This type of rope is often used in water sports because it doesn’t sink and its prone to slight stretch. Polypropylene rope is strong, but it’s not recommended for use in securing heavy loads.

A great advantage of these ropes is the ability to float – thrown into water the rope will not sink.
